John Ferguson
Didn't know about this band til seeing them do a great electric set today at a music festival in Dartmouth in Devon (didn't know festival was on til we got here on holiday!) Saw their later acoustic set too - equally superb. Bought their eponymous EP and now downloaded the rest. If there's any 'justice' in the world, they will 'make it'!

lyrics
There's a man out in the oak
Hands of wood and steel and walls
Break them down or build them all
There's a man high as a mountain
Casts a shadow on the land
Though he does not look so tall
I wanna be like that
I wanna make a stand
Please tell me how I can
I wanna walk that line
Well-worn, yet defined
A life out on the vine
I will run until my legs give out
And I will sing my song 'til my voice is dead and gone
I will work until my veins grow cold
Until my back is broke and I am my father's son
My father's son
There's a man up on the roof
We only know what he reveals
Fell that tree with sword and shield
There's a man out in the grass
Keeping peace with older souls
And defending all they yield
I wanna be like that
I wanna make a stand
Please tell me how I can
I wanna walk that line
Well worn, yet defined
A life out on the vine
I will run until my legs give out
And I will sing my song 'til my voice is dead and gone
I will work until my veins grow cold
Until my back is broke and I am my father's son
My father's son
